IF YOU CAN BREATHE, YOU CAN DO YOGA — T Krishnamacharya
My name is Daphne Vanden Borre and I am a qualified yoga teacher based in London. I teach yoga privately, and also run small group classes at Bexley Community Library and the Horseshoe Barn in Bexley.
Whether you’re a regular yogi or new to yoga, my aim is to inspire you to develop and grow your personal practice, and to enjoy the benefits this ancient discipline can bring to your everyday life.
As our fast-paced culture evolves, yoga provides that special place to ‘be’ for letting go—an opportunity to step out of the thinking mode and come back to our bodies, mind and breath.
To keep ourselves well and safe until we are able to revert to 'normal', all of our sessions will be running in the garden studio by group of maximum 4 keeping all students in a safe bubble.
(TBC following Government guidance)
Through Live well Yoga @HOME , as the weather gets colder, I also offer every week ALL LIVE online sessions wherever you are. As we are really slowly adapting to our new routines, I hope to keep you practicing with your heart, willingness and discipline.
If you wish to sign up for a session or need more info, please get in touch at: info@livewellyoga.co.uk
Stay Strong, Stay Safe, Stay Kind.
And see you back soon on the mat.
Daphné 🙏💓

Yoga has been practiced all over the world for thousands of years, and is one of the most natural ways of keeping body and mind healthy, free of anxiety and stress.
Around 2000 years ago, a sage called Patanjali is believed to have collated the practice of yoga into the Yoga Sutra. The Sutra serves as a guidebook, and illustrates how the physical practice is just one aspect of yoga.
Even within the physical practice (called asana), yoga is unique, as we learn to connect movement and fluctuations of the mind to the rhythm of our breath.
Connecting the mind, body, and breath helps us to re-direct our attention inward, and become more aware of the present moment.
Many people think that they need to be flexible to do yoga, but you don’t have to be able to touch your toes or do the splits, Yoga provides the opportunity to explore and extend the capacity of the body, and harmonise with a calm and focused mind.
Mother of two boys, I first discovered yoga as an antidote to a hectic work and family lifestyle. Like most, I was juggling parenthood, work, the commute, children’s activities and generally running around.
Through my journey, I have found authentic solutions to a new way of life. I have defined for myself how existence on the mat, and around the clock can merge into ‘one’ through the discipline of Yoga.
After many years of regular practice, I embarked on an 18-months teacher training diploma (200 hours Yoga Alliance and Independent Yoga Network accredited) at one of the UK’s leading centres for yoga learning, Yogacampus.
As a teacher, my aim is to share the positive physical, mental and spiritual benefits of a yoga practice. I enable students to rediscover harmony and balance in a safe way, and hope to inspire individuals to take their practice further into everyday life.
My teaching offers alignment based flowing movements, and longer-held poses that build strength, stamina and stability. I address key points on anatomy and the benefits of poses for the physical and subtle energetic body. This encourages each person to challenge themselves, whilst honouring and respecting their own bodies and acting with kindness to themselves.
Breathing is also a primordial foundation of my teaching. By bringing a conscious awareness to the breath, we can activate an internal change, bringing balance to the body and mind. Ultimately this will help to improve concentration, build focus, and enhance the asana practice.
Yoga is so much more than physical postures. Even though asana is necessary, it is not as important as the journey that we embark on. Concentrating on the breath brings a return to the 'core', clearing personal clutter and allowing students to get in touch with who they actually are.
I seek to help each student to ‘come home to themselves’ and feel deeply nourished by finding harmony and calm in their minds, and freedom in their bodies—an odyssey of self-discovery and self-acceptance in continual progress.
My aim is to bring the essence of yoga from the past and adapt it to our 21st century lifestyle to benefit each and everyone.
